At the end of that Rainbow…

It’s been a while since I saw a rainbow in the sky.

An incomplete letter

to a forgotten friend, lies

forgotten, in Drafts.

Had it been in ink on paper,

It would have been smudged

by a rain of tears,

Drenching her in my sorrow,

As she would have held it

between her fingers.

The light from my heart

would have reflected in hers

And refracted through her teardrops,

To burst into those seven colours

Of friendship known and lost.

A volley of giggles, Smiles

from a carefree time lie forgotten,

In that pot of gold at the end of that rainbow.

P.S. A poem for a friend who got lost somewhere along the way…
